Q. Can I propose in front of the Falls at Niagara Falls?

A. Yes! There are a lot of spots with the Falls in the background and you are welcome to take a knee in your favorite spot!

 

Q. Are there any parks at Niagara Falls?

A. Yes! There are two parks that are right in front of the Falls. Queen Victoria Park and Oaks Garden Theatre.

 

Q. Can I hire a photographer to take photos of my proposal at Niagara Falls.

A. You absolutely can hire a professional photographer to photograph your proposal at the Falls. I would love to help you with that.

 

Q. Can I bring decorations or hire a decorator for my proposal at Niagara Falls.

A. While you can bring decorations and/or hire a decorator, any area in front of the Falls will require a permit from the Niagara Parks Commission. In 2025 the permit was approximately $700 Canadian dollars. You can bring rose petals or a bouquet of flowers, even a musician without a permit. No permit is required for a photographer.

 

Q. Are you able to be discrete during the actual proposal. I don't want my partner to know there's a photographer there.

A. Absolutely! Because it's a tourist spot I tend to blend in with other people. My camera doesn't come out until you take a knee so I am able to stay incognito until that point.

 

Q. How far ahead do I need to book my proposal?

A. Sometimes you can book a couple of days ahead but most times booking ahead of time with secure your spot. Because we are a tourist town we get very busy during certain times of year and my schedule can get pretty full. If you are hiring a decor company you will definitely want to give them as much notice as you can as they need the items as well as a staff member available to set things up.

 

Q. Can you help me plan?

A. I can absolutely help you plan. Just give me some ideas of how you want your moment to be and I can help facilitate that. If you want rose petals or a bouquet I can help have that ready for you when you arrive.

 

Q. How will you know it's us?

A. We will be in contact. You will send me a selfie ahead of time and give me a description of what you're both wearing. Some people like to share their location so I can see them coming. I definitely like to get a text once you've arrived so I can be in place and ready to go.

 

Q. What happens if I plan to propose in front of the Falls and then the weather is bad.

A. This definitely happens. In the end it's going to be your call but we can discuss alternatives like, proposing in front of the Falls despite and weather and then heading inside to finish the session. Or we can choose a different location if you don't insist on having the Falls in the background. People have definitely braved the cold for proposals and some couples have done it in the rain!

 

Q. Is there a big difference in proposing in the winter verses proposing in the summer at Niagara Falls?

A. YES! Not only are the summer months a lot more busy, the Falls looks completely different between the two seasons. I am happy to share photos from both to give you an idea. The Falls in the winter can be very frozen (they never stop flowing however).

 

Q. As our photographer are you familiar with locations at the Falls?
A. Not only do I live in Niagara Falls, I photograph about 100 proposals a year!! Most of them take place at the Falls by couples who are visiting Niagara. I am very familiar with the locations around the area.

 

Q. Is one time of day better than another to propose at Niagara Falls?

A. If you are looking for a little more privacy then morning is the way to go. I have had couple propose at Sunrise and it's been gorgeous and so quiet. If you want the fireworks in the background then expect to share your proposal with a crowd.

 

Q. How long is my photography session for my proposal at Niagara Falls?

A. The session includes your proposal as well as an engagement session immediately following. The whole thing takes about an hour.

 

Q. How long after our Niagara proposal will we receive our photos?

A. Because I know you are super excited to share your news with your friends and family, I work quickly to get your photos to you. In the off season they can be done within a couple of days. During peek busy time they may take up to a week.
