This past winter I had the pleasure of photographing Jessica and Brent's destination wedding in Cancun Mexico. Everything about this wedding was magic. The Mexico sun was perfect, the beach ceremony was a dream and their outdoor destination celebration under twinkle lights and the moon with 80 of their closest friends, was a night to remember.
Is was just like every other wedding in that all of the elements were there. I was there for Jessica's bridal prep. Her hair and makeup, her gown and dressing details. Then we headed for a private first look of her future husband and their children. I captured this emotional moment surrounded by palm trees in a quiet area of their resort.

Jessica was stunning in her gown with her cathedral veil. She brought her professional hair and makeup stylist with her so she knew just what to expect.

They said "I do" in front of their closest family and friends at Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach on the water and then celebrated the night away at their catered reception under the stars. The night was complete with a late night visit to the on site disco. <a href="https://www.iberostar.com/" aria-invalid="true">Iberostar</a> was the perfect host. Their coordinator was amazing to work with and was so accommodating. Their on site team of videographers were some of my favorite I've worked with!
It's no secret I love the heat but beyond that this was hands down one of my favorite weddings that I have ever had the pleasure of being a part of.
It was fun, romantic, intimate, and adventurous! A thousand times over I would recommend a destination wedding and I would highly recommend this venue in Mexico!!

Being a proposal photographer in Niagara Falls is honestly the best job. I get to share in one of the best moments of your life! If you coming to Niagara Falls and looking to propose I know you want to have the Falls in the background of this life changing moment. Across from Queen Victoria Park is the perfect spot. I spend a lot of time helping people decide which area of the Falls they want to "pop the question" at so I figured I would create a couple of blog posts to help you on your proposal journey (check out my other blog posts on where to propose in Niagara Falls) Queen Victoria Park is a Niagara Parks property surrounding the area of the Niagara Parks Police station and right across the street from the huge water fall that is the American Falls. This is a great spot to take a knee and ask that most important question, will you marry me!! During the non peak season in Niagara Falls this spot is perfect. You can usually get parking at the Niagara Parks police station or some couples choose to walk from their Falls view hotels (please keep in mind it's not as close as it looks online and can easily be a twenty minute walk). During peak tourist months the area can get very busy so if you are looking for a little more privacy I always suggest early in the morning. You can beat the tourist rush and the sun rises at the Falls which makes for a beautiful golden hour (golden hour can mean sunrise too!) photos. If you are here in the summer months and are looking for a bit more privacy but want the Falls in the background of your proposal photos, check out my blog on Oaks Garden Theatre.
After the surprise, the yes, the tears and hugs have been given we can walk across the street to Queen Victoria Park and finish your engagement session. The rose garden is beautiful in the summer months and in the winter months the backdrop of forest is beautiful.

Proposing in front of Niagara Falls at Queen Victoria Park

The majority of people who contact me for proposals are coming here on a Niagara Falls vacation. The couples who are coming usually have no idea what's around the area but know they want to propose and have the Niagara Falls in the background. This is absolutely something you can do! It's going to make a difference whether you come to Niagara in the winter, or the summer (or somewhere in between). Summer time can get pretty crazy down by the Falls and people looking to have a bit more privacy might want to head down to Oaks Garden Theatre. This Niagara Parks property is just to the left of Niagara Falls and right next to the Rainbow bridge. It's a great spot during the busy summer months because there are less people than directly in front of the Falls and parking is a little easier to navigate.
The gardens themselves are gorgeous and have a ton of variety for your engagement photos immediately following your proposal. Oaks Garden features formal gardens, a lily pond with a bridge and gorgeous architecture. There are several spots in the garden where the Niagara Falls are visible. This means you aren't limited in your options to do a proposal with a bit of privacy and Niagara Falls in the background.
Winter gets a bit trickier as the gardens aren't maintained. However, the architecture and metal gates are still a great back drop for your proposal and engagement photos.

"I am a Niagara Falls wedding, event and portrait photographer and the truth is I love my job. No, I mean I really love my job. I still cry at weddings……I can’t imagine doing anything else.

When I started it was weddings. Allllll weddings. Now, it’s so much more. My brand and I personally have evolved into something I couldn’t imagine. I am so grateful.
It is my job as a photographer to capture your most important moments. Even during a headshot or branding session I need to capture you as you are. I need to be able to tell the world in a single image a story. It has to be an authentic story; those are the only ones I want to tell.
Weddings are still my favourite. I get the opportunity to spend an entire day sharing in some of the most wonderful moments of your life.

My children say I am caring, funny (thank goodness someone said that!!) outgoing, emotional and focused (I have the best kids. I didn’t pay them to say nice things. They are the reason I do what I do and I am who I am)

Really, when all is said and done, it’s all about relationships for me. I have been saying that for a long time now and it’s the most consistent thing about me. At the end of our lives we take nothing with us but what we leave behind are the relationships we have built with those around us. For me, that includes every person I have photographed who have allowed me to be a part of their lives and for those who have allowed me to remain a part of their story.
